Role We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. This is a Hybrid role, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in the Risk360 department. You will lead the design and implementation of our Risk360 product, bringing an AI-first approach to development. We are seeking an expert who can build and scale high-performance, reliable systems while leveraging agentic frameworks and cloud-based data platforms. What you’ll do (Role Expectations) Lead the design and implementation of the Risk360 product using an AI-first development methodology Build and scale high-performance, reliable systems within cloud-based data environments Apply agent workflows to improve day-to-day software development productivity, including coding, testing, and debugging Design and operate LLM and agent-based systems focusing on tool use, planning, memory, and guardrails Evaluate and adopt new technologies within cloud-native environments to drive product innovation Who You Are (Success Profile) You thrive in ambiguity. What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, preferably in data-intensive environments 5+ years of Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience in Java or Python Proven experience building and operating LLM or agent-based systems, including state management and agent workflows Technical proficiency in cloud-native environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP alongside experience managing and utilizing CI/CD systems like Jenkins or Bamboo What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience designing and optimizing multi-agent architectures or cognitive workflows to automate complex software engineering and risk analysis tasks Hands-on experience with advanced frameworks like LangGraph Ability to write highly efficient code optimized for big data setups paired with deep knowledge of various DBMS systems, including NoSQL architectures and design principles #LI-Hybrid #LI-AN4 At Zscaler, we are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve and the customers we work with.
