About this role
ABOUT ABRIDGE
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
THE ROLE
Abridge is building AI that belongs in every clinical encounter — and we need the talent to match that ambition. The builders who will define what's possible in healthcare AI are out there. Most of them just don't know us yet.
As our Senior Employer Brand Storyteller, you'll change that. This role owns two things equally: the narrative that makes Abridge credible to senior technical talent, and the presence that makes us visible in the communities where that talent actually pays attention.
This isn't a content role that occasionally attends events. And it isn't a community role that occasionally writes things. It's both, deeply — because the only way to build a technical employer brand that holds up is to show up in the rooms and say something worth hearing when you get there.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
EMPLOYER NARRATIVE AND CONTENT
- Produce engaging and quality content (writing, video content) for the technical builder community showcasing the intricate technical problems involved in using AI to fix the healthcare industry
- Define and steward Abridge's employer story for technical audiences—on X, at conferences, in community spaces, and through the voices of our own builders
- Build the narrative that addresses the honest question builders ask: Is healthcare actually an interesting engineering problem? (It is. You'll make that undeniable.)
- Equip recruiters with sharp, differentiated language for senior builder conversations
- Ensure every conference appearance extends beyond the event through written and video content: recaps, real-time presence, and follow-up that earns ongoing attention
- Identify internal builders whose voices should be amplified and help them show up consistently where AI/ML builders are paying attention
SF COMMUNITY PRESENCE
- Attend and drive engagement at SF builder community events where opinions actually form with the goal of enhancing the recruiting funnel (e.g. meetups, dinners)
- Know who the connectors are and build real relationships with engineers, investors, and technical leaders before you need anything from them
- Define who belongs in Abridge's orbit and build the structures to keep them engaged: curated contact lists, recurring dinner cohorts, re-engagement cadences
- Map the community and know where to invest — not every room is worth the time, and you'll have sharp instincts about which ones are
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Proven history of building content builders want to consume—technically credible, opinionated, and built for an audience that has high signal tolerance and low patience for vagueness
- Experience demonstrating engaged audience creation
- Genuine fluency in the AI/ML space — enough to hold a real conversation with a research scientist and know what's actually hard versus what just sounds hard
- A natural community builder who forms real relationships. You know the difference between networking and building trust, and you do the latter
- Experience owning an employer brand or technical content function, ideally at a growth-stage company where the brand is still being defined
- Comfort working without a playbook. This role is new at Abridge; you'll set the direction, not execute someone else's strategy
- Based in San Francisco or willing to be — the community presence mandate requires consistent, genuine in-person investment
Must be willing to work from our SF office at least 3x per week
This position requires a commitment to a hybrid work model, with the expectation of coming into the office a minimum of (3) three times per week. Relocation assistance is available for candidates willing to move to San Francisco.
