The IACUC Coordinator role supports this mission by providing essential administrative and compliance oversight of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and regulatory adherence in Neuralink’s preclinical programs.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
The IACUC Administrator will provide critical administrative, operational, and compliance support to the IACUC. This role ensures the ethical and regulatory compliance of all animal research activities supporting the development of Neuralink’s brain-machine interfaces. Responsibilities include:
Provide administrative support to IACUC members, including scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings.
Conduct intake review of protocol submissions, amendments, and related documents; follow up to ensure completeness and compliance with IACUC policies and regulations.
Prepare and distribute timely agendas, minutes, decisions, approvals, and related materials.
Assist with IACUC inspections, program evaluations, and training activities.
Serve as a liaison and represent the IACUC in responding to inquiries from investigators, veterinarians, and staff; provide guidance, interpretation, and clarification within scope of authority.
Manage and maintain official and electronic IACUC records and files; coordinate workflow and process administrative paperwork.
Track and monitor protocol status, action items, and deadlines to ensure efficient review cycles and regulatory compliance.
Facilitate communication between Principal Investigators, study teams, veterinary staff, and IACUC members regarding submissions, clarifications, revisions, and approvals.
Support semiannual facility inspections, program reviews, and preparation of required reports to regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of IACUC policies, procedures, and tracking systems.
Ensure personnel training records related to IACUC activities are maintained and assist with GLP/IACUC training for staff as needed.
Perform other administrative functions and related duties as required to support IACUC operations and Quality Assurance objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal science, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in research compliance, IACUC administration, animal research support, or a regulatory environment.
Solid working knowledge of federal regulations governing animal research (Good Laboratory Practice, Animal Welfare Act, PHS Policy, Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals) and AAALAC standards.
Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in data compilation, documentation, and Microsoft Office (or equivalent) tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of institutional administrative support processes, including scheduling, logistics, and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA) certification.
Direct experience coordinating IACUC processes in a biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical research setting.
Background in neuroscience, neural device studies, or GLP-regulated preclinical research.
Experience supporting quality assurance or regulatory compliance activities.
Expected Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.
Base Salary Range:
$26.92 — $44.71 USD
