About this role
About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
The Creative Studio is Anthropic’s in-house creative team responsible for the brand expression across Anthropic and Claude. We care about craft, making things by hand and using AI when it makes sense. The team is growing, and we’re looking for people who do excellent work to join us. The stakes are real, and there’s room to shape what all this becomes.
About the role
As a Video Director for Product Launches at Anthropic, you will own the creative vision and execution of video content for our most important moments: model launches and product reveals. You'll lead the full production lifecycle from concept to delivery, bringing a storyteller's instinct to complex technical subjects and crafting narratives that make transformative AI feel accessible and compelling.
This role operates in a fast-paced environment where launch timelines move quickly and turnarounds are tight. You'll need to make sharp creative decisions without the luxury of extended development cycles, pivoting when priorities shift, moving from brief to execution with speed, and delivering high-quality work under real pressure.
You're someone who can walk into a room, understand what a launch needs to communicate, and build a video strategy around it — then execute it at the highest level. You lead crews with confidence, guide collaborators through ambiguity, and know how to get great work across the finish line even when the timeline is short.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee video production for model and product launches, from initial creative brief through final delivery, often on compressed timelines
Develop creative concepts, treatments, and narrative strategies that translate complex AI capabilities into compelling, human-centered stories
Lead and manage production crews on set, including DPs, camera operators, sound, lighting, and other crew members
Partner with marketing, product, and communications teams to align creative direction with launch goals and messaging
Guide post-production workflows, providing creative direction to editors, colorists, and sound designers
Identify the story worth telling within a launch, taking raw elements, context, and product details and crafting a cohesive narrative arc
Build and maintain scalable production processes that can flex to meet the pace of Anthropic's launch cadence
Stay current with video production trends, launch formats, and storytelling techniques in the technology and AI space
You may be a good fit if you
6+ years of professional video directing or production experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to lead high-impact launches or campaigns
Have experience directing at a SaaS or AI company, or have worked as part of an in-house creative team in a fast-paced technology environment
Are a skilled storyteller who can take disparate elements, such as product features, brand positioning, and customer impact, and shape them into a compelling narrative
Have proven experience leading production crews on set and are comfortable owning creative decisions under time and budget pressure
Thrive under tight turnarounds and can maintain creative quality when timelines are compressed
Understand the full filmmaking process, from pre-production through delivery, and can provide informed direction at every stage
Are an excellent communicator who can articulate creative vision clearly to both production teams and non-technical stakeholders
Are proactive and calm under pressure, bringing clarity to ambiguity and keeping productions moving even when priorities shift
Are excited about the challenge of making AI launches feel meaningful to a broad audience
Strong candidates may also have
Hands-on experience as a director of photography or camera operator
Editing experience and comfort working directly in post-production
Experience directing launch videos, keynote content, or product announcement films
Background working with technical or complex subject matter and making it accessible on screen
Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, or mixed-media storytelling techniques
Knowledge of different delivery formats and platform requirements (web, social, events, broadcast)
Experience building or scaling a video production function from the ground up
