About this role
ABOUT ABRIDGE
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
THE ROLE
As the Technical Strategic Partnership Director, you will play a critical role at the intersection of Strategic Partnerships, Product, and Engineering as Abridge scales into a true multi-EHR ecosystem. Reporting to the VP of Strategic Partnerships and working closely with Product leadership, you will serve as Abridge’s centralized expert on EHR workflow and technical integration strategy across Epic and other emerging EHR partners.
This role exists to support Abridge’s continued growth in product capabilities and platform footprint across multiple EHR ecosystems. In this role, you will bring structure, speed, and technical clarity to how Abridge designs and evaluates Epic/EHR workflows. By partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams, you will help ensure integrations feel native, predictable, and high-quality across systems—enabling faster execution, stronger alignment, and sustained trust with health system and EHR partners.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- EHR Integration Strategy & Workflow Leadership
- Partner with Product Managers to define and evolve Abridge’s cross-product integration strategy in Epic and other EHRs.
- Guide the design of end-to-end workflows into and out of EHR systems, ensuring integrations are intuitive and complete for our clinicians users. Partner with product and clients to develop best practices and build credibility.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex EHR workflow questions and integration-dependent product decisions, outlining recommendations and tradeoffs.
- Technical Feasibility & API Guidance
- Support PMs and Engineering by evaluating EHR APIs, vendor services, and integration mechanisms, advising on feasibility, constraints, and optimal pathways.
- Help teams anticipate integration risks early, reducing rework, iteration cycles, and downstream delivery delays.
- Track EHR platform changes, releases, and dependencies to maintain shared clarity on technical constraints and opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Alignment & Execution
- Act as a connective tissue across Strategic Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Partner Experience, and Implementation teams to ensure scalable integration decisions.
- Bring structure and shared context to fragmented integration workstreams, improving velocity and consistency across channels.
- Partner with Implementation and Partner Success teams to inform repeatable integration patterns and scalable delivery approaches.
- Expected Impact
- Accelerate Multi-EHR Time-to-Market: Reduce ambiguity and rework by giving teams earlier, clearer guidance on integration constraints and opportunities.
- Improve Workflow Quality & End-User Experience: Ensure integrations feel native and intuitive across EHRs, driving clinician adoption and satisfaction.
- Enable Scalable Growth: Create a durable foundation for pursuing new EHR integrations while keeping in-flight workstreams unblocked.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5+ years of experience working with or within EHR ecosystems (Epic, Oracle/Cerner, athenahealth, or MEDITECH) in integrations, workflows, or technical enablement.
- Strong understanding of EHR workflows, interoperability patterns, APIs, and implementation constraints in real-world health system environments.
- Ability to influence without direct authority. Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to guide integration strategy without direct ownership of delivery.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and acting as a centralized expert across multiple parallel workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and workflow considerations into clear guidance for diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized, proactive, and motivated by enabling speed, quality, and trust at scale
