The Role 🥳
We’re hiring for Staff Software Engineers (Full-Stack / Back-End) to work across our core engineering teams in Sydney.
Each team at Relevance AI is tackling a different frontier of the AI workforce — from the core agent and tool builder experience, to the conversational layer that powers real-time agentic chat, to the enterprise-grade platform capabilities that serve our largest and most demanding customers. Regardless of where you land, you'll be building systems that make AI usable, reliable, and production-ready.
Our roles would be ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving deep technical problems, designing robust scalable systems, and owning complex projects end-to-end in close collaboration with product and customer-facing teams.

Your Impact 💥
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, production-grade systems that underpin our platform at scale.
- Provide architectural guidance and cross-team technical leadership, ensuring consistency, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Own significant platform surface areas end-to-end — from system design through to deployment, observability, and iteration.
- Partner with product, go-to-market, and engineering leadership to translate customer and business requirements into clear technical strategies.
- Mentor and level-up engineers within and beyond your immediate team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
- Shape engineering standards, processes, and best practices as we scale across the organisation.

We leverage a modern, scalable, and developer-friendly technology stack to build robust web applications:
- Frontend: React, Vue.js, Typescript
- Backend: Express.js, Node.js, Typescript
- Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Cloud Infrastructure: AWS, Vercel, Terraform, Kubernetes
- AI Coding Tools: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and more
What We’re Looking For 🧠
- 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience(full-stack or back-end focussed), ideally within fast-paced, high-growth and complex technical environments.
- Clear evidence of operating at Staff scope — driving architecture, mentoring teams, and influencing technical direction across multiple squads or projects.
- Strong technical foundations in cloud infrastructure and APIs (preferably AWS, Node.js, REST/GraphQL).
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable technical strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end and consistently deliver high-quality, high-impact outcomes.
- Customer-centric mindset — you think about reliability, scalability, and the downstream effects of technical decisions on real users.
- Deep interest in AI and enthusiasm for building category-defining products.
- Actively leverages AI coding tools in your day-to-day workflow and stays current with the latest developments.
Bonus Points if You Have Any Of The Following ⭐
- Experience building AI features leveraging LLMs, agent workflows, or AI infrastructure.
- Experience building enterprise features and systems — IAM, SSO, audit logs, compliance frameworks, or observability.
- Experience building integrations ecosystems or native third-party connectors.
