As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the design and implementations of services running in our cloud. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products .
What you’ll do:
Partner with Engineering teams to build and scale cloud and on-prem infrastructure software to support our revolutionary Laser Weeding solution and future products.
Quickly build and troubleshoot applications and tooling to support a dynamic and continuous machine learning model training pipeline with ownership and collaboration
What you will build will provide remote monitoring and visibility to our fleet of Robots located around the globe.
Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to reiterate quickly
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:
5+ years of professional experience (2+ years for mid-level) developing and deploying distributed systems and services using Golang or Python, with a minimum of 2 years using Golang
Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL/Sqlite) and experience with non-relational databases
Proficiency with web services (REST/GRPC) and AWS or other similar cloud providers
Exposure to Deep Learning Pipelines
General knowledge of Linux, Docker, and networking concepts
Bonus: expertise in building and testing code with clear interfaces and isolation
Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams
BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.
Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:
$190,000 — $225,000 USD
