About this role
The Carbon Robotics LaserWeeder™ leverages advanced robotics, computer vision, AI/deep learning, and lasers to eliminate weeds with sub-millimeter accuracy—all without herbicides. This innovative solution reduces environmental impact, promotes soil health, and helps farmers address labor shortages and rising costs. Designed in Seattle and built at our cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Richland, Washington, the LaserWeeder is setting a new standard for automated weed control. With $157 million in funding from prominent investors such as BOND, NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture arm), Anthos Capital, Fuse Venture Capital, Ignition Partners, Revolution, Sozo Ventures, and Voyager Capital , Carbon Robotics is driving innovation.
As a no-nonsense team with a bias for action, we take pride in executing our ideas. Whether it’s designing transformative technology or visiting farms to ensure our products are reliable and safe, we do whatever it takes to deliver for our customers.
Working here means tackling big problems with big impact. You’ll find opportunities to grow professionally, solve complex challenges, and make meaningful contributions to a mission that matters. At Carbon Robotics, we trust our team to act independently and make practical, real-world decisions.
Join us as we innovate, execute, and build the future of farming together.

Carbon Robotics is deploying autonomy in real world agricultural environments. As autonomy scales, so does the need for a high-performance operational backbone to monitor, intervene, and continuously improve these systems in the field.
The Sr. Manager of Autonomous Support Operations owns the strategy and execution of remote operations: from staffing models and intervention protocols to performance optimization and global scaling. You will define how humans and machines work together in real time.
What you’ll do:
ROCC Strategy & Buildout
Extend Remote Operations Control Centers (ROCCs) framework to support a growing autonomous fleet to other regions
Define location strategy (regional vs centralized), redundancy models, and coverage across time zones
Improve upon ROCC infrastructure, tooling, workflows, and staffing methods.
Human-in-the-Loop Operations Architecture
Architect and continuously refine autonomous operations
Define escalation pathways, intervention thresholds, and decision frameworks
Optimize for uptime, safety, and operational efficiency as autonomy improves
Staffing & Workforce Management
Own hiring, onboarding, and training for ROCC operators
Build scheduling systems that align with fleet demand, seasonality, and time zones
Develop performance management systems and career paths for operators
Real-Time Operations & Performance
Establish KPIs: intervention rate, response time, uptime, operator utilization, etc.
Build dashboards and reporting to monitor fleet and operator performance
Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve operational throughput
Autonomy Layer Integration
Partner with Engineering, Product, and Field Ops to improve system performance
Translate field and ROCC insights into actionable feedback for autonomy development
Help define the roadmap for reducing human intervention over time
Process & Tooling Development
Define standard operating procedures for monitoring, intervention, and escalation
Work with internal teams to build or refine tooling for remote operations
Drive automation within the ROCC to reduce manual load
What Success Looks Like
ROCCs are fully operational, scalable, and supporting fleet growth without bottlenecks
Clear, data-driven ratios of operators to machines, improving over time
Measurable reduction in intervention rates while maintaining safety and uptime
High-performing operator team with strong retention and clear accountability
Tight feedback loop between operations and autonomy development
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for Success:
10+ years of experience in operations, ideally in robotics, autonomy, logistics, or high-scale real-time systems
Experience building and scaling operational teams in complex environments
Strong systems thinker—you design processes, not just manage them
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from zero to one
Data-driven, with experience defining and managing operational KPIs
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
Experience with command centers, NOCs, dispatch, or remote operations is a strong plus
Ability to travel up to 50% to field sites or regional operational centers initially. Long term, travel will be up to 25%.
Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as re
