About the role As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ads Experience (AdEx) team, you will lead the design and delivery of key advertiser and operator workflows in Moloco’s web-based campaign management portal (Moloco Cloud Portal, our Ads Manager UI). You will shape how advertisers configure, monitor, and troubleshoot campaigns at scale, driving both user satisfaction and business impact. The Opportunity Lead the end‑to‑end design and implementation of complex advertiser workflows and services in Moloco Cloud Portal, from problem framing and technical design to launch and post‑launch iteration. Act as technical lead for medium‑ to large‑scale projects, breaking down ambiguous problems into clear milestones and aligning engineers and cross‑functional partners. Architect and evolve backend services and APIs that support campaign setup, health monitoring, reporting, alerting, and diagnostics for advertisers and internal operators. Partner with Product, UX, Data, and ML to define the operational and reporting experience strategy in the Ads Manager UI, ensuring our experiences are coherent, scalable, and easy to operate. Collaborate with data and infra teams to design reliable analytics and reporting pipelines, including data contracts, SLIs/SLOs, and mechanisms for data correctness and latency. Raise the engineering bar by driving best practices in code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and incident response across the AdEx team. Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical feedback, sharing context, and helping them grow in system design and execution. Influence longer‑term technical direction for Ads Experience, identifying platform opportunities and technical investments that unlock future product capabilities. Basic Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant backend or platform work on user‑facing products. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or Python, and experience building large‑scale distributed systems or high‑throughput services. Strong system design skills, with a track record of leading the design and implementation of complex features or services across multiple components or teams. Deep experience designing and operating web services / APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, Bigtable, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Proven experience acting as a project tech lead: breaking down ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders, and delivering projects on time with high quality. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Product, UX, Data, and ML partners, influencing product scope and technical trade‑offs. Fluent in English, capable of driving technical discussions and decisions with global, cross‑functional stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience with advertiser- or operator-facing systems such as campaign managers, reporting/analytics dashboards, troubleshooting/alerting tools, or billing/capacity management systems. Deep understanding of digital advertising / AdTech, including campaign performance metrics, attribution models, reporting dimensions, and advertiser needs. Experience designing analytics and reporting architectures (data contracts, schemas, SLIs/SLOs, backfill strategies, latency vs. cost trade‑offs). Hands‑on experience with cloud and big‑data technologies (e.g., GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, Kafka, Beam/Spark) and integrating them into user‑facing products.
