ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are currently looking for experienced German (Austrian) linguists to join our Legal Talent Community. We are seeking highly experienced linguists in legal translation and a deep understanding of jurisdiction-specific terminology and conventions. We prioritize linguists with expertise in areas such as contracts, compliance, and regulatory documentation, where accuracy and consistency are essential.   What You’ll Deliver - Legal Translation: Translate complex legal content between English and your native language with a high degree of accuracy and terminological consistency. - Regulatory Alignment: Ensure translations reflect jurisdiction-specific legal systems, terminology, and formatting conventions. - Quality & Risk Awareness: Apply rigorous quality standards to deliver precise, unambiguous content where accuracy is critical. - Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.   Qualifications - Native-level proficiency in the target language(s) - A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR - A graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR - 5 years of full-time professional translation experience. - The ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely. - Professional experience in translation and localization within the legal domain.   Why Collaborate with Lilt? - Your schedule, your rules. Work availability fluctuates with project demand, making this better suited as a supplemental income stream. As a 1099 contractor, you won't receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions, and hours are not guaranteed. - Requires reliable availability and commitment. Once you accept a task, we expect quality work and on-time delivery. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week. If your schedule is unpredictable, this may not be the right fit. - Geographic restrictions may apply. We cannot engage contractors in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions.
