About this role

ABOUT ABRIDGE Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients. Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems. We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh. THE ROLE Abridge’s services and engineering teams are in hyper-scale mode, growing rapidly with our expanding customer base and new product launches. We are looking for an engineering manager to help drive execution across our platform organization, including cloud infrastructure, developer platform, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD). You will own a key area within the platform team, partnering closely with senior leadership to scope and deliver critical infrastructure that powers our products. In this role, you’ll lead a growing team of engineers, translate strategic priorities into execution, and ensure the reliability and scalability of systems that directly impact our customers. This is a rapidly-evolving role that sits at the intersection of AI, platform, and healthcare. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Execution-focused leadership: Own the delivery of key platform initiatives across cloud infrastructure, developer platform, and CI/CD systems. Translate high-level strategy into clear, actionable plans, and drive day-to-day execution for your team. Partner with product engineering, security, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery. - Technical operator: Bring strong systems thinking and technical judgment to guide architecture, unblock teams, and make pragmatic tradeoffs. While not expected to code daily, you should be comfortable diving into system design, reviewing solutions, and helping the team navigate complex infrastructure challenges. - Team builder and hiring partner: Partner with leadership to grow and scale the team. Contribute to hiring efforts by identifying strong candidates, maintaining a high hiring bar, and helping evolve the hiring process. Support onboarding and create an environment where engineers can do their best work. - Team leader and multiplier: Manage, mentor, and support a team of engineers, helping them grow in their careers and deliver high-impact work. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability. Act as a force multiplier by improving team processes, clarity, and execution. - Operational excellence: Drive strong execution practices, including sprint planning, prioritization, and stakeholder communication. Ensure your team operates effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while maintaining high standards for reliability and quality. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 3+ years of engineering management experience in rapidly growing organizations. - Experience leading and growing teams of engineers, including hiring and performance management. - Strong execution mindset with the ability to scope work, prioritize effectively, and deliver results. - Comfortable working hands-on with technical systems, including architecture and design discussions. - Experience working across platform domains such as cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, and CI/CD systems. - Familiarity with production systems in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar). - Experience with containerized environments, Kubernetes, and modern infrastructure tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Istio, Atmos). - Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and workflows to improve team productivity, development velocity, and operational efficiency. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and functions, including security as a key partner. - Passion for building high-performing teams and delivering impactful infrastructure. - Genuine passion for Abridge’s mission to improve healthcare in America and across the world. WHY WORK AT ABRIDGE? At Abridge, we’re transforming healthcare delivery experiences with generative AI, enabling clinicians and patients to connect in deeper, more meaningful ways. Our mission is clear: to power deeper understanding in healthcare. We’re driving real, lasting change, with millions of medical conversations
