ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible for leading Data Center CDU Installations and Commissioning in support of deployment deliverables, serving as the primary technical expert for liquid cooling systems throughout all commissioning phases (Level 1–5). You will perform and oversee installation, startup testing, and validation of cooling distribution units while acting as Owner Representative across multiple sites, coordinating with contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and operations teams to develop and execute test scripts (FPTs, ISTs). You will also manage site inspections, safety enforcement, documentation, and issue tracking, and ensure a smooth handover to operations teams with full training and commissioning reports upon project completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scope & Contract Management: Author CDU deployment scopes of work covering installation, commissioning, and acceptance criteria; project manage deployment contracts from award through closeout tracking deliverables, change orders, schedule milestones, and financial performance across multiple sites.
- Team Leadership & Site Management: Manage a team of onsite superintendents leading day-to-day CDU installation execution; set priorities, remove blockers, and ensure consistent site practices (inspections, safety enforcement, progress tracking, issue resolution) across all deployments.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as Owner's Representative for contractors and vendors across multiple sites; serve as the primary interface to deployment and capacity planning teams with regular updates on CDU schedule, readiness, risk, and milestone status.
- Vendor Performance & Standardization: Track CDU OEM and install contractor performance against KPIs (schedule adherence, quality, change order discipline) and drive corrective action when needed; enforce consistent install methods, checklists, and handover packages across sites so each new deployment benefits from prior site learnings.
- Commissioning Oversight: Oversee all commissioning phases for cooling distribution units through onsite superintendents and Cx agents, ensuring milestone gates (Level 1–5 https://www.google.com/search?q=Level+1-5&sca_esv=44ef909211c6f503&ei=BjE4adOrC8u6qtsP4OmZ2Qw&ved=2ahUKEwib-JXe2rCRAxVYm2oFHZV6LGsQgK4QegQIAxAB) are met prior to handover; coordinate with Commissioning Agents and Operations to develop, review, and support execution of test scripts (FPTs https://www.google.com/search?q=FPTs&sca_esv=44ef909211c6f503&ei=BjE4adOrC8u6qtsP4OmZ2Qw&ved=2ahUKEwib-JXe2rCRAxVYm2oFHZV6LGsQgK4QegQIAxAF, ISTs https://www.google.com/search?q=ISTs&sca_esv=44ef909211c6f503&ei=BjE4adOrC8u6qtsP4OmZ2Qw&ved=2ahUKEwib-JXe2rCRAxVYm2oFHZV6LGsQgK4QegQIAxAG) confirming systems meet design and operational requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project records, issue logs, milestone tracking, and CDU commissioning reports; report status up to leadership and out to deployment stakeholders on a defined cadence.
- Handover: Provide technical support, training, and handover documentation to operations teams post-commissioning, ensuring all systems are complete and ready for service.
