The opportunity.
Are you ready to make a real impact at a fast-paced, innovative fintech company? Trumid, a rapidly growing New York City-based leader in fixed income trading technology, is looking for a driven AI Automation Intern to join Trumid, working closely with our Tech Ops and HR teams, for Summer 2026. This is a paid, 8-10 week internship where you'll work across two of Trumid's most critical business functions - Technology Operations and Human Resources - using AI to streamline workflows and drive meaningful organizational impact. The ideal candidate has the following skills:
About you.
Within two years of undergraduate graduation (December 2026 – May 2028 graduation date).
AI-Native. You don't just use AI tools; you think in them — and you naturally see where they can eliminate friction.
Intellectually Curious. You ask "why" until you actually understand a process, then ask "what if" until you've imagined a better one.
Resilient & Proactive. When you hit a wall, you find a door before asking for help. You don't wait to be told what to do next.
A Norm Challenger. You see a clunky process and immediately start thinking about how to make it smarter.
An Entrepreneur at Heart. You think about ownership, impact, and scale — not just the task in front of you.
Someone Who Knows Work Can Be Fun. You bring energy and genuine enthusiasm, even to the unglamorous stuff.
What You’ll Do.
Automate real workflows across Tech Ops and HR. Identify high-friction, repetitive tasks in both functions and build AI-powered solutions that save time and reduce manual effort at scale.
Come up with ideas and prototype them. Got a spark of an idea for how AI could transform an onboarding process or an IT ticketing workflow? Build a rough version and show us. We love interns who bring concepts nobody asked for but everyone immediately wants.
Learn our operations - then help improve them. Get up to speed on how our Tech Ops and HR teams work today, then tell us what could be better. Your fresh eyes are genuinely valuable.
Be our AI radar. Read new research, follow emerging tools, and share what you find. Found something that could change how we manage employee workflows or IT operations? Tell the team.
Own a real problem. You'll be pointed at actual internal challenges in Tech Ops and HR and given the space to figure out how AI can make them faster, smarter, and more human. Some guidance included, but you'll be driving.
Ideal Candidate
Able to work in-office, in New York.
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
Hands-on experience with AI-native tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar).
Basic experience with Python and/or TypeScript; GitHub experience is a plus.
Familiarity with business operations tools (HRIS, ticketing systems, collaboration platforms) is a bonus - but curiosity matters more than credentials.
A side project, class project, or anything you built or automated outside of coursework that you can talk about.
Self-sufficient enough to get unstuck on your own before asking for help.
Why Trumid?
