Over 140,000 companies and millions of people rely on Checkr for AI verification in the moments that matter most: getting a new job, a new place to live, a car ride, childcare, even a date. Customers include Uber, Pennymac, Airbnb, Doordash, Amazon, and Anthropic. We’re a team that thrives on solving complex problems with innovative solutions that advance our mission. Checkr is recognized on Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List and is a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company .\n About the team/role \n We’re hiring an ML Engineer (P2) to build and ship the AI systems that power Checkr’s core products. This role sits on the ML team inside Checkr’s Data \u0026 ML organization within Engineering.\n Checkr runs millions of background checks a year. The ML team builds the systems that make those checks faster, more accurate, and cheaper to operate: document processing, charge classification, entity resolution, and in-product intelligence. These are production services that Product Engineering depends on daily.\n This is not a research role or a notebook role. You’ll own ML services end-to-end: design them, code them, deploy them, monitor them. We need someone who writes production software, builds with LLMs and APIs as first-class tools, and can tell the difference between working code and AI slop. If you’ve spent the last few years building AI-native software and you care deeply about engineering craft, we want to talk.\n This role sits in the central Data \u0026 ML team within the Engineering organization. You will partner daily with Product Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams. You’ll also contribute to Checkr’s broader AI strategy, including our initiative to deploy our agentic fleet and build scalable context with our semantic layer.\n We are looking for someone based in San Francisco who has built ML systems in fast-moving, impact-first environments. Less process, more shipping. Less paperwork, more results.\n  \n What you’ll do \n \n Build and deploy ML/AI services. Design, develop, and ship ML models and AI systems that Product Engineering teams rely on. You write the model code, the API layer, the monitoring, and the tests. Not notebooks; production services.\n Design with LLMs and APIs. Use LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) as building blocks in production systems. You know when to call an LLM, when to fine-tune, when to use a classical model, and when to write a rule. You think about cost, latency, and quality together.\n Ship production software. Write clean, well-structured code with solid OOP, proper abstractions, error handling, and tests. Your code gets reviewed by SWEs and passes. CI/CD is how you work, not something you bolt on at the end.\n Partner with product and engineering. Translate business problems into ML solutions. Define API contracts with product engineers. Explain your approach clearly to non-ML partners and leave the room with alignment, not confusion.\n Evaluate and iterate fast. Build evaluation frameworks, run experiments, and make data-driven decisions about model and system performance. Ship and iterate; don’t wait for perfect.\n Ship AI-powered workflows. Put AI to work on your own processes: automate pipelines, build agentic workflows, and contribute reusable skills and context to Checkr’s agentic platform. The expectation is that our teams operate AI-first.\n \n What you bring \n \n A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent depth from experience\n 4+ years building software professionally, with at least 2 of those building ML systems that run in production\n Strong Python fluency; you write clean, testable, well-structured code with solid OOP instincts. Not scripts; software\n Hands-on experience using LLM APIs in production systems: prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, cost management, and evaluation\n You’ve built and maintained APIs, worked with CI/CD pipelines, and shipped code that other engineers depend on\n Comfortable with distributed systems concepts: queues, async processing, caching, horizontal scaling\n Experience with NLP tasks in production: classification, extraction, entity resolution, summarization\n Comfort with and enthusiasm for AI-assisted workflows; experience using LLMs, code-generation tools, or agentic systems in production or operational contexts is a strong signal\n You can evaluate tradeoffs: fine-tune vs. prompt, hosted vs. self-deployed, classical ML vs. LLM, rule vs. model\n Strong communication skills; you explain technical decisions clearly to engineers and non-engineers alike, without hiding behind jargon\n You use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.) to move faster, but you understand every line they produce. You can spot AI slop and you don’t ship it\n An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and t","salary_min":168000,"salary_max":198000,"location":"San Francisco, CA","workplace":"onsite","job_type":"full-time","experience_level":"mid","tags":["nlp","code-generation","mlops","agents","payments","legal","distributed-systems","llm"],"apply_url":"https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/checkr/jobs/7966920","is_featured":false,"is_sticky":false,"status":"active","published_at":"2026-05-29T15:17:56Z","expires_at":"2026-06-29T14:10:31.076983Z","created_at":"2026-05-30T14:10:31.19215Z","updated_at":"2026-05-30T14:10:31.19215Z","company_name":"Checkr","company_slug":"checkr","company_logo_url":"https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=checkr.com\u0026sz=128","quality_score":90,"url":"https://aidevboard.com/job/73600478-6692-47ce-be77-2aebfb5bb4a2"},{"id":"9007f08c-f9f3-4610-9d1f-03eba5fbe52f","company_id":"ed18bbda-3537-4b44-9295-c7b575fce0ff","title":"Staff Product Manager - Enterprise AI","slug":"staff-product-manager-enterprise-ai-307a46d6","description":"Who we are  \n At Twilio, we’re shaping the future of communications, all from the comfort of our homes. As Director of Engineering, New Verticals, you will own that program end-to-end: building the team, defining the operating model, and ensuring Harvey's top accounts feel like Harvey works exclusively for them.\n\n\n\nThis is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of engineering leadership, enterprise client strategy, and product influence. You'll lead a team of software engineers working directly with clients, while partnering closely with legal engineering, Sales, CS, and Product to shape what gets built and for whom.\n\n\n\nThis is not a product function. The job’s primary goal is to make Harvey's most valuable customers wildly successful, while also influencing the product roadmap with direct customer feedback.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\nTeam Leadership\n\n - Build, hire, and manage a team of software engineers and managers deployed into strategic accounts\n\n - Define staffing models, engagement structures, and capacity allocation across active and prospective accounts\n\n - Develop specialist pods of engineers for new verticals (M\u0026A, litigation, fund formation, compliance, etc.) that can be drawn on across engagements.\n\n - Set and uphold quality standards for client deliverables, documentation, and knowledge transfer.\n\nTechnical Execution\n\n - Maintain deep technical fluency to scope custom builds accurately, unblock engineering decisions, and evaluate quality of delivered solutions\n\n - Oversee the design and implementation of tailored workflows, retrieval systems, agent tools, and knowledge sources built on Harvey's platform\n\n - Ensure solutions are built to be operationalized: with evaluations, documentation, and user training.\n\nProduct Influence\n\n - Identify patterns across client engagements that signal gaps or opportunities in Harvey's core platform\n\n - Bring field signal to product and engineering leadership with specificity: what clients need, how often, and what it would take to generalize\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU HAVE\n\n - 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years leading engineering teams (bonus if in customer-facing contexts)\n\n - Deep familiarity with LLM application development: retrieval-augmented generation, agent architectures, structured outputs, and evaluation design\n\n - Experience building and scaling technical teams: hiring, developing, and retaining engineers across specializations\n\n - Exceptional communication skills; able to translate complex technical work into clear language for both engineers and C-suite clients\n\n - Low ego, high accountability; you're as comfortable rolling up your sleeves on a client problem as you are presenting to the board\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n - Prior experience building products for these legal, asset management, banking, or insurance.\n\n - Familiarity with enterprise legal workflows: document review, contract analysis, compliance, M\u0026A diligence\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY THIS ROLE\n\nHarvey's most strategic accounts — the firms and in-house teams that set the standard for the rest of the industry — deserve more than a great product. They deserve a team that shows up for them. As Director of Forward Deployed Engineering, you'll build that team, define what excellence looks like, and make Harvey indispensable to the companies that matter most.\n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION\n\n$320,000 - $360,000 USD\n\n\n\n\nDEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION, AN APPLICANT PRIVACY NOTICE MAY APPLY TO YOU. That means building trust through great platform fundamentals, inspiring developers to raise the bar in how they use Claude's capabilities, and accelerating the path to agentic development by designing for both human and AI developers. You'll work closely with teams across the Platform org to turn Claude's newest capabilities into experiences developers can actually pick up and run with - from first prompt to production agent.\n Beneficial Deployments: Beneficial Deployments Engineering brings Claude to organizations doing the most good with the fewest resources — nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, researchers, and economic mobility programs. We're looking for a full-stack engineer to build the access programs, tooling, and product work that make frontier AI usable for teams that couldn't afford this capacity any other way.\n Enterprise AI Products: You'll work on the products that make Claude a daily-use tool for enterprise customers across industries – the connective tissue that lets Claude operate effectively across workflows. On this team you will systematically understand why Enterprise users aren't activating, what's blocking adoption, and building the capabilities to close those gaps. Some of our focuses are:\n \n Extensibility — plugins, skills, connectors, and the MCP ecosystem that lets a company shape Claude around their specific workflows and distribute that work across teams.\n Context — enterprise knowledge, organizational memory, and the retrieval layer that makes Claude genuinely aware of a company's people, documents, and workflows. A connected, contextual Claude is the difference between a general-purpose chatbot and a real coworker.\n Proactivity — Cowork suggestions, workflow capture, ambient Claude inside the apps people already use. Moving from \"Claude answers when asked\" to \"Claude notices what you need\".\n \n Vertical AI Products :   Purpose-built experiences for specific industries where Claude can transform complex professional work. We're currently building for three verticals, with more to come:\n \n Financial Services — analysts and bankers building models, memos, and decks under deadline. We're building retrieval, analysis, and document generation that holds up to executive review.\n Healthcare — clinical documentation, prior auth, and care coordination. Work where accuracy isn't a feature, it's the whole product — and where compliance is part of the engineering.\n Legal — contract analysis, document review, and matter management for teams that will read every word we generate and know immediately if it's wrong.\n \n Enterprise Foundations: You'll build the systems large organizations require before they can adopt Claude at scale: identity and permissions, security and compliance controls, and the admin analytics that let them see how it's being used. This is the work that turns \"we love the demo\" into a signed enterprise deal. The role is part product, part platform. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.\n\nThis is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. With 1500+ customers in 60+ countries, strong product-market fit, and world-class investor support, we’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.\n\nOur team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.\n\nAt Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.\n\n\n\n\nROLE OVERVIEW\n\nThis role blends elements of product management, innovation strategy, solutions design, and forward-deployed partnership. You’ll work directly with leading law firms and corporate legal teams to translate messy, high-value legal work into AI-powered workflows — and ensure they succeed in production.\n\nWe don’t build software for lawyers; we build it with them. Our teams sit shoulder-to-shoulder with partners, associates, innovation groups, and CIOs to understand problems at depth, design first-of-kind workflows, and ship products that reshape how legal work gets done.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Serve as a thought partner to top global law firms and enterprises — diagnosing pain points, mapping high-value opportunities, and guiding how Harvey integrates into their practice.\n\n - Work with the go-to-market team to shape pilots and deployments end-to-end: discovery, workflow design, testing, onboarding, iteration, and firm-wide rollout.\n\n - Work with innovation leaders, legal operations, and practice groups alongside Customer Success — ensuring the platform becomes embedded in day-to-day legal work\n\n - Translate user insights into product direction to influence roadmap\n\n - Help clients evaluate the business impact of AI — from improving associate leverage to transforming workflows across practices like M\u0026A, litigation, regulatory, and transactions.\n\n - Shape how the legal industry adapts to AI. You’ll be in the room where the new operating model of law is being defined.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU HAVE\n\nYou come from the legal world, but you’ve always gravitated toward innovation, experimentation, and systems thinking. You’ve seen how complex legal work happens in practice — and you’re excited to redesign it with cutting-edge AI.\n\nYou’ll thrive here if you:\n\n - Have experience at a top law firm or in-house legal team; innovation, legal ops, or consulting experience is a plus.\n\n - Familiarity with the legal tech ecosystem as an employee, founder, or advisor to legal tech startups\n\n - Are product-savvy and tech-curious. You’re not expected to code, but you can navigate conversations about generative AI, workflow design, privacy, governance, and enterprise rollout.\n\n - Communicate with clarity and confidence across roles — partners, associates, engineers, PMs, CIOs, and legal ops.\n\n - Can independently run multiple client engagements in parallel.\n\n - Care deeply about quality and user outcomes while keeping a strong bias for action.\n\n - Are energized by building something new in a domain going through its biggest shift in decades.\n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION\n\n$178,500 - $241,500 USD\n\n\n\n\nDEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION, AN APPLICANT PRIVACY NOTICE MAY APPLY TO YOU. You'll build it. As our first dedicated legal ops hire, you'll report to the Head of Legal and own the systems, processes, and tooling for a legal team that's scaling fast.\n\nGamma has over 70 million users, is profitable with $100M+ ARR, and is pushing hard into enterprise. That means a rapidly growing volume of commercial contracts, vendor agreements, privacy workflows, and compliance requests— all of which need infrastructure behind them. This is a ground-up build role. You'll assess what we need, select and implement the right tools, and create the workflows that let our lawyers focus on substantive legal work instead of administrative overhead.\n\nOur team has a strong in-office culture and works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco. We love working together to stay creative and connected, with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Evaluate, select, and implement a CLM platform, then design and own the legal intake and triage process, contract template library, clause bank, and self-serve resources that enable Sales and other teams to move faster with less legal touch\n\n - Own the legal tech stack end to end: selection, implementation, configuration, training, and ongoing optimization, including knowledge management systems for executed agreements, approved positions, and precedent language\n\n - Identify opportunities to automate repetitive legal workflows (NDAs, standard vendor agreements, routine approvals) and implement solutions\n\n - Implement and manage Gamma's privacy program under attorney supervision, including data subject requests, privacy documentation, vendor privacy assessments, DPA negotiations, and cross-functional compliance initiatives\n\n - Track deal flow, turnaround times, and bottlenecks, and build reporting and dashboards that give leadership visibility into legal workload, spend, and operational metrics\n\n - As the legal team grows, help define roles, onboarding processes, and operational standards for new hires\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\n\n - 5+ years of legal operations experience, with at least 2 years in-house at a technology or SaaS company\n\n - Demonstrated experience building legal ops infrastructure from early stage: you've selected and implemented a CLM (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Juro, or similar), built intake workflows, and stood up reporting\n\n - Strong technical fluency with the ability to evaluate legal tech tools and configure workflows, and experience managing contract lifecycle processes across both customer and vendor agreements\n\n - Working familiarity with privacy compliance operations including DPA tracking, subprocessor management, and DSR workflows\n\n - Project management discipline: you can run multiple concurrent workstreams, hit deadlines, and hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable\n\n - A bias toward building systems over doing things manually\n\n - Experience at a company navigating the consumer-to-enterprise transition, familiarity with SOC 2 audit processes and security compliance coordination, or exposure to AI-related compliance workflows (Nice to have)\n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION RANGE:\n\nThe base salary for this full-time position, which spans multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $150K - $210K plus benefits \u0026 equity.\n\n\n\nFinal offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.\n\n\n\nIf you're interested in this role but you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway! It's our frontier lab that combines top engineering, design, AI and legal talent from around the world, joining forces to build the future of law.\n\nWe’re backed by top-tier investors, including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures, and in December 2025, we secured $60M Series B funding round to facilitate international expansion and to grow our team.\n\nWe’re headquartered in London and in 2025 successfully launched in the US…and we’re just getting started.\n\n\n\n\nDATA AT LAWHIVE\n\nWe are building the world's first AI-native consumer law firm, and the data foundations underneath it have to match that ambition. Over the next 12 months, the data function will:\n\n - Transform our internal data stack so that anyone in the business can explore, dig into, and act on data without filing a ticket, using the latest AI tooling\n\n - Build the data integration playbook for acquired firms as we expand our firm portfolio. Each firm runs different systems and we need a canonical Lawhive data model that scales\n\n - Drive self-serve adoption so business teams move faster and the data team is no longer the bottleneck for routine questions\n\nThe data team today is four people: a Senior Data Engineer, an Analytics Engineer, and two Data Analysts. The Head of Data will lead this team, report directly to the CTO, and work closely with Strategy, Finance, and business functions.\n\nOur current stack: BigQuery, dbt, Hex, Dagster, K8s, Claude Code, GCP and AWS infrastructure. We expect the Head of Data to be hands-on technical as well as strategic, and have strong opinions on what stays, what goes, and what comes next.\n\n\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nAs Head of Data, you'll lead Lawhive's data function through a step-change in capability. Reporting directly to our CTO, Jaime https://www.linkedin.com/in/jaime-van-oers/, you'll own the data stack, build the data integration capability for acquired firms, and run a small high-quality team that partners with every function in the business.\n\nThis role is for someone who has done it before. You've migrated a scaleup's data stack end-to-end. You've integrated acquired-company data into a canonical model. You're AI-native in how you work and in what you build. And you're comfortable telling a CTO \"this stack is wrong, and here's what we do instead.\"\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\nDiagnose and improve our data stack in your first 12 months. Propose a target architecture against our goals of AI-native self-serve-first analytics (warehouse, modelling, semantic layer, BI, exploration). Replace tools where needed\n\n - Design and own the acquisition data integration playbook. Build a canonical Lawhive data model that future systems map to. Make firm onboarding a repeatable weeks-not-months process\n\n - Make Lawhive self-serve on data. Build the platform, modelling, and semantic layer that lets business users explore, drill in, and answer their own questions\n\n - Define and enforce data quality SLAs. Freshness, accuracy, ownership coverage, end-to-end lineage\n\n - Lead and grow the data team. Coach analysts into stronger cross-functional partners. Hire and onboard a data integration engineer in year 1\n\n - Partner with Strategy on metric definition. You own instrumentation, semantic layer, and accuracy. They own the metric tree. Together you run the metric council\n\n - Drive AI-native practices inside the data function. Use LLMs for entity resolution, schema mapping, data quality, and exploration. Set the bar for how a data team works in 2026\n\n - Be a key cross-functional partner to Product, Engineering, Finance, Strategy, and the operational teams within acquired firms\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\n\nYou'll be a great fit for this role if:\n\n - You've owned a data stack end-to-end at a B2B SaaS scaleup. You can walk us through what you built, changed, why, and what you'd do differently\n\n - You've built repeatable data integration patterns at an M\u0026A-heavy company or rollup. Ideally a B2B SaaS context. You know how to handle messy legacy systems and conflicting schemas\n\n - You have strong opinions on the modern data stack and data modelling best practices: warehouse, modelling, semantic layer, BI tooling, exploration. You can defend trade-offs\n\n - You're AI-native in your craft. You use Cursor, Claude, dbt AI, agentic notebooks daily. You've shipped AI features inside a data team (LLMs for entity resolution, schema mapping, data quality, exploration).
